Social Groups
Our social groups are designed to help children build meaningful peer relationships and participate successfully in group settings. Using principles of applied behavior analysis, we support the development of foundational skills by helping children strengthen essential social and communication skills through guided peer interactions and natural learning opportunities.
Targeted skills may include:
-
Initiating and responding to greetings
-
Sharing, turn-taking, and cooperative play
-
Reading and responding to nonverbal social cues
-
Conflict resolution and problem-solving with peers
-
Maintaining conversations with peers
-
Joining group activities or play
-
Waiting for a turn or for adult attention
-
Following group instructions
-
Asking peers to play or join an activity
-
Accepting changes in routines and play
-
Demonstrating flexibility during games and group tasks
-
Following group rules and transitions
-
Offering help or showing interest in others' ideas
-
Engaging in shared activities
Each group is led by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and closely supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Goals are individualized, progress is monitored, and parents are supported in promoting the generalization of skills to home, school, and community settings.
